Just to let everyone know that we raised a little over £700 for the South East Cancer Help Centre. Grateful thanks to the army of helpers, who all know what they are doing – and do it superlatively. I’m not going to name everyone individually but you all know who you are and I don’t want to take the risk of forgetting someone and being highly unpopular.
The weather turned out to be better than expected, but I think the poor forecast may have kept the numbers lower than they might have been.
The SECHC are delighted with the total and have asked me to pass on their thanks to all involved:
“On behalf of the Centre, I would like to thank you and the members of the Sanderstead Lawn Tennis Club for so kindly raising £718.50 at your annual fund-raising event.
This was a magnificent sum and will make a valuable contribution to our fund-raising efforts. Please assure everyone involved that the money will be put to very good use in helping us to support those affected by cancer in the local area, and will provide many therapies to our members.
We are very grateful to you for supporting us in this way and for the members’ generosity.
