Well done to everyone who got through to the winter finals, and in particular to the winners of the various categories. Even though the weather was pretty miserable, both the players and umpires braved the conditions and we managed to get all the matches finished just before the heavier rain started!
I would just like to thank all the spectators for turning up to support the players, and I hope they enjoyed watching the matches. The umpires (Andy F, Graham, Dana, Mike and Charlotte) also need a special thank you, as at times they had to struggle to keep the rain from smudging their score sheets! Thanks also to Nicola & Setsuko for turning the numbers on the scorer. To Maddie and family for the delicious soup and cheese & biscuits, which was most appreciated after being out in the cold and wet. Thanks also to Derek and Marilyn for manning the bar, Derek and Clive for taking the photos and to all the organisers in the background who helped make the day such a success (in particular Patience, Nicola & Chris H).

MENS’ DOUBLES: Chris H. & Ian S. beat Dana & Simon G. 6-4, 6-2.
LADIES SINGLES SUPERSET: Carrie beat Dee 6-0
MENS’ SINGLES SUPERSET: Matt beat Andy E. 6-4
MIXED DOUBLES: Debbie & Ian S. beat Carrie & Chris H. 6-2, 6-2
